HANGOVER FOODS & DRINK

Peppermint Tea

Together with beans on toast, of course – is peppermint tea. Peppermint is a digestive aid that helps to relieve tension, bloating and other unpleasantries in the stomach. It also speeds up the detoxification process.

Apples

Eating an apple on an empty stomach is another great quick hangover fix. The antioxidants, fruit sugars and minerals like magnesium it contains all help to speed up your body’s natural detoxification process.

Eggs

Did you know that, when you drink too much, your body produces a toxic substance called acetaldehyde, which gives you hangover symptoms? Your body reacts by producing a counter-active chemical called glutathione. But that supply is quickly depleated. Eggs, however, are packed with cysteine (contained in glutathione), which can help to clean up leftover toxins in the process. Might explain why a fried brekkie is one of the first things we naturally reach for after a heavy night out…

Damage limitation for me is to drink water halfway through the evening, about 11pm and then just before bed I drink a large glass of water with 2 ibuprofen or 2 paracetamol. This is for my headache that feels like it´s being squeezed to bursting point, dehydration of course.

Low Fat Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows ~ not too Shabby eh!

Being on a diet this time of year is really difficult, but in the last 12 weeks I have lost 17lbs, so being a chocoholic this is a must have. Two low fat hot chocolates, Weight Watchers and Cacao, which is from Mercadona Supermarket in Spain topped with Candy Land Marshmallows I got these from Iceland, I'm not sure how many weight watchers points or slimming world syns these are but I can still have my Christmas traditions without feeling too guilty.

LINDY LOU'S BLOG

Welcome to Lindy Lou's Shabby Chic Blog Page

I knew I always wanted to have my own business but never knew what business. I have always been a creative person since I can remember and designed, renovated and decorated 2 homes and I am now onto my third.

Along the way I have stripped, painted and stained old and new pieces of furniture along the way. Family and friends have asked me along the way, "why don't you do this for a living". It was never the right time. Well, now is the time and here is my first blog. I hope you enjoy my blogs and I will update you as much as I can and add interesting articles to read and view. Thanks for your support and reading.

BEFORE ~  unloved headboard

AFTER ~ reloved reproduction Louis XVI headboard

This reproduction louis XVI headboard was a dull cream and gold in colour and in need of some attention. I decided to paint it white and distressed it. Customer was very pleased with the result.
